Grandmas Life Story..told me in many of our special talks we have had over the years.

Toye Rahl was a determined woman and she told me that when she decided she wanted Bill (Grandpa) she was going to have him.  She told me she got all dressed up went down his work and told him he was going to take her out. When he told her he had plans, she said that is fine you can take me out the next night.  He did...and as she told me ..he wouldnt let her out of his sight then and not ever.  They dated a short time before becoming engaged and quickly married soon after.  She told me that she never knew how to do laundry or cook..and one night Grandpa came home and she made him spam to eat. He was immediatly insulted, because when he was in the military that is all he ate. He was so angry at her she said she would never even look at Spam the same.  They lived a life of some ups and downs but always stood by each other.  They adopted 3 boys ...Lynn, Jim and John.  All of which had children, making her the Best Grandma in the World.  She loved having family over, dancing, traveling, Mexican Food, Wine, her Children, her grandchildren, her husband and friends, church.  Grandma once told me I can marry a man in any religion except Baptist..dont you marry a Baptist. She would have let me but she love her religion.  She would light up when when Dad would surprise her at church.  I remember the day she fell in love with cats all over again. We were sitting outside and a cat came up to her and she told me the story of her cat that she had as a young person and lived for 18 years. She said it devestated her when her cat died. She instantly became fond of this cat.  That began her love of cats again.  Some may have thought it was annoying or inconvience, but to her it was a living thing that needed her companiship, loyalty and needed her to care for her.  They gave her such love and enterainment and reason to get up in the morning...those cats were a gift to Grandma from God.  She lived a long life but not long enough for me.  I have so many stories but not enough room in this box to put them all in at one time.  Enjoy...
